The Os Innominatum is a large, irregularly shaped bone, which,with that of the opposite side, forms the sides and anterior walls of thepelvic cavity. In young subjects it consists of the separate parts whichmeet and form the large cup-shaped cavity situated near the middle of theouter side of the bone ; and although in the adult these have become miited,it is usual to describe the bone as divisible into three portions : the ilium,the ischium, and the pubes.
